Get a Head Start on Learning Your New Development Tools
Just as you need to make your software more appealing for new users, we at PVX Plus Technologies are working to make our tools more usable and visual, too. We want to make sure those newer developers (or developers who are new to PxPlus) can easily move to our platform. We have worked to make sure that our toolset looks similar to and is as intuitive as platforms that newcomers might already be familiar with.
For developers who are used to PxPlus, these changes might seem like they’ll present their own challenges. However, when you attend the DireXions+ conference, you’ll gain insights that will help you see the value of the new enhancements and quickly make the most of them!
Here’s a sneak peak at a sample of the exciting enhancements you’ll learn about at the DireXions+ conference:
- Web Services — Learn about the latest enhancements to PxPlus that demystify Web Services and the XML, JSON, and SOAP technologies.
- Visual queries — We’ve added the ability to include dynamic images, colors, and font attributes to your existing queries. The possibilities are bound only by your imagination.
- Modernized IDE — The utilities and tools in the PxPlus Development Suite have undergone a major redesign. You’ll find many new capabilities with advanced features and functionality, all designed to maximize developer productivity.
- myTiles — PxPlus myTiles™ enables you to design and develop your own tiles to add to the Windows 8 active desktop with either static images or, better yet, dynamic graphs and charts tied back to your application.
- STARTTLS protocol — Encryption with SSL is important for email, and PxPlus has supported this functionality for a number of years. Things change, however, and one of the newest standards is TLS and the ability to use a protocol called STARTTLS for email security.
- IDE Project Manager — Let PxPlus help keep track of all your programs, panels, reports, and database tables in the new, easy-to-navigate IDE project manager.
- Objects to handle embedded I/O — Embedded I/O has been a part of PxPlus for many years and for a wide variety of purposes. Since its inception, many new developments have occurred in programming languages, including Object Oriented Programming (OOP). With the newest release of PxPlus, we have added the ability to use objects to handle embedded I/O.
- Improve data sharing across the network and improve performance — The PxServer file I/O interface is designed specifically to address situations where the application is trying to share data files across a network and effectively eliminates many of the problems inherent with the use of network-based files systems, such as disconnects and transmission errors.
- PxPlus File Mirroring utility — This new feature allows you to automatically send all file updates to one or more remote servers, create an alternate copy for backup purposes or to update various databases, and minimize application overhead, as well as give you coverage if the network goes down with our built-in “catch-up” logic.
- Better documentation — We have developed a new, easier-to-use, consolidated documentation source. And we will help you develop better documentation for your apps as well!
These are some of the highlights, but there’s much more!
In our highly interactive sessions, you’ll get how-tos that help you transform the look and feel of your application with controls like hover animation, dynamic color changes, embedded icons, and more. You’ll learn how to create charts automatically and schedule updates as data changes. And you’ll discover how to make better use of ZIP files, deal with Big Data storage and maintenance requirements, and take steps to make a smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
You’ll get exposure to a working application that utilizes the latest PxPlus tools; you’ll be able to explore and envision what you can do with PxPlus to meet your business goals. We’ll also share the results of our Extreme GUI Makeover. In addition, you’ll get a 90-day pre-release version of the software to continue to test drive the next version of PxPlus when you get back home.
We’re always changing our toolset to make it easy to use and easy to adapt as your business changes and grows with user demand. DireXions+ is the perfect forum to share your successes, ideas, and questions with other developers and business leaders as well as a great opportunity to connect and interact directly with the experts who develop the PxPlus Development Suite.
