PVX Plus Continues a Holiday Tradition

In what is becoming a yearly event for us, the PVX Plus team once again used a slow day at the office to shop for holiday gifts — not for ourselves, but to donate to the Markham Fire and Emergency Services Annual Toy Drive. We enjoy lending a hand shopping and are happy to know our efforts help make the season even more special for local kids. 2015 marked the 29th Annual Toy Drive, a celebration that brings the community together to support the next generation. The drive directly supports the Markham Salvation Army and the Children’s Centre at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Shopping spree

What’s more fun than getting into the holiday spirit with the aim of making a child’s Christmas morning magical? On American Thanksgiving, the crew took a shopping trip rivaling Santa’s. Eleven people spent time shopping for gifts, checking out at the registers, and bringing the toys back to the office. We then gathered the unwrapped toys under the tree, and Markham Firefighters picked up our donations in festive red sacks.

The spirit of giving

The Toy Drive is all about giving back to the community — and having a little (or a lot) of fun! This is a great experience for all the PVX staff, and is a reminder that the joy of giving to others is a gift in and of itself. After adding to another successful year of the Toy Drive, we’re thankful to have the opportunity to give generously to our Markham friends and neighbors.

This year was even more special for us at PVX Plus as we made a donation to the SickKids Foundation in honor and appreciation of our customers. This charity foundation raises money for The Hospital for Sick Children, using the funds to improve the lives and health of Canadian children and kids around the world. It was our pleasure to say “Thank you” to our clients in this way.

We can’t wait to continue our Toy Drive tradition and help Markham Fire and Emergency Services make the season a little merrier for local children as the program celebrates its 30th year in 2016!
